So you are probably asking yourself, so what exactly is a Technology Concierge?  A simple question, with a simple answer with many details.  This is part 1 of a 3 part series that will answer this question.

In Part 1, we are going to discuss the difference between an installer, and a Technology Concierge.

In most installation projects, the most important thing is that it has to work.  It needs to perform the tasks that you expect from it.  Second most important, is the manner in which this equipment is installed.  In these pictures, we can see what a typical installer will leave behind after they have 'finished' in your office or home.  These pictures are step 1) The Technology Concierge preparing an area for the 'installer' (an internet provider's employee or more often, a subcontractor for said provider).  Installed here is a 24 port patch panel, and a 24 port managed switch for a commercial location.

As you can see, we have done sufficient cable management, and have left as much room as possible for the installer to put in the provider equipment.

This is what the same location looked like after our installer has left.  It almost appears as if he had his schedule far too busy for him to neatly install this equipment upon our telco board.  Installed here were TWO seperate cable modems, one provider WiFi Switch, and a 'hotspot'.  Besides the most glaring issue, the cable 'management' method used and the wonderful mess left behind, the most important working parts, the Wifi Switch, the first cable modem, and our 24 port switch, only half of these were being powered by the side that is backed up by battery.  In other words, in a power failure event, we would lose power to the commercial properties lifeline.

So we had a few things to correct, and here is what it looks like when a Technology Concierge comes back to fix these issues.

It is never acceptable to leave behind a mess for our customers to clean up.  We should behave as if we are a guest in their business or home, and treat the premises accordingly.

We have tidied up that rats nest of cables, and made it much easier for the customer, or any future workers that need to access to this board for upgrades, troubleshooting, or repair.  However the chances of these are minimized greatly when the materials are installed correctly, and cleanly.  We take great pride in our work, and although you may be able to find someone who can do it 'cheaply' (but even that chance is small, as we are very competitively priced), but you won't find someone else who can do it cleanly & correctly.

Please reach out to BMG Technology Concierge if you have any upcoming network installation needs for your business or home!  We would be very grateful for the opportunity to serve you.   You will be happy you did!
